Weekly poll results: do you have a quick-charging phone?

quick charge
Quick charging is indeed something a fair number of us have.
This week's poll may seem a bit simpler than most, and the same holds true for its results, which show that a majority of the responding users â€" what 4,500 of you responded this week â€" said that you did have a quick-charging phone. This comes as a small surprise to us, as relatively few phones in the last few months have come with it, however, many of the phones packing it are quite popular devices like the 2014 Motorola Moto X and the HTC One M8. Quick-charging has especially been promoted on phones with larger batteries like the Motorola Droid Turbo and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

Quick-charging is on the majority of the respondents phones - and for good reason.
Another 9 percent confessed to having a phone that supported quick-charging but not having a quick charger to take advantage of this, which is understandable as quick chargers from the OEMs can be expensive or near impossible to find in stock, like the Motorola Turbo Charger. If you're looking to rectify that situation, take a look at our articles from this week detailing both OEM chargers and car chargers.
An even 20 percent of responding users said they don't have a quick-charging phone, which isn't surprising given that Quick Charge 2.0 was unveiled in 2013 but didn't start shipping on devices till last year. However, the last ten 10 percent responded that they may not have quick-charging now, but their next phone will have it, and it's easy to understand their determination, as quick-charging can be quite helpful in a situation where you have limited time to charge and need every battery-percentage you can get quickly, like in the car on the way to the airport, or charging your phone during lunch so it can last you through the afternoon at an Android convention where you'll be snapping pics, scanning badges, and pulling up Google searches to help back your side of a spirited debate.
So, did the number of quick-charging fiends on our site surprise you, or could you care less about charging your phone fast since yours gets you through the day easily? Would you rather see quick-charging or wireless charging in more phones? Chime in below in the comments, and as always, if you have an idea for a future poll, speak up, and maybe you'll see it up here one Tuesday.
