Microsoft has launched another monthly system update for Xbox One consoles, and to complement the rolling release, it has detailed all the changes it brings and even published a video that gives a brief overview of the update.
The update, called May Update, brings four major improvements, with the first one being voice messages. You can now send and receive voice messages from the Xbox One messages app, which is something Microsoft said is the most-requested feature in the Friends and Parties area on the Xbox Feedback site. Another new feature is the ability to turn your Xbox One on or off from the Xbox One SmartGlass app for Windows, Windows Phone, iOS, and Android devices (as long as they're on the same home network as your console). The third feature is called "User Selectable Power Mode", and it basically enables you to select your preferred power mode between Instant-on or Energy-saving mode.
Microsoft also said it started to expand the availability of the party chat relay services to more people. Dedicated Servers for Party Chat were initially limited to preview members as Microsoft tried to fine tune the feature and scale out the servers.
