Back in April, the Indian Premier League (IPL) started â€" and as expected, Cortana started predicting all the IPL matches. For those unfamiliar, the Indian Premier League is a Cricket “T20″ league. Cortana was ablet to predict most of the IPL matches this season successfully, however, the fail rate is pretty high. Of course, this is expected as Bing/Cortana predicts these matches based on stats â€" but as this is a game, you never know what’s going to happen.
Keeping all the other matches aside, Cortana wasn’t able to predict the finals of IPL successfully. She predicted that the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will beat the Mumbai Indians (MI) â€" but, MI beat CSK by 41 runs. To be fair, CSK was most likely to be the winner of IPL this year as the team won 9 matches out of 14 whereas Mumbai Indians won 8 matches. It’s also worth pointing out that the MI was almost out of the league, however, the team managed to get into the playoffs by winning a clutch game against the Sunrise Hyderabad in the group stage.
