Comscore: Windows Phone sees slight drop in US market share

Comscore’s latest US market share numbers are out.  The numbers reflect the number of smartphone owners in USA by OS, and this month shows that 3.3% of 187.5 million smartphone owners in USA own Windows Phones, or around 6.2 million users.
This number is down from a peak of 6.5 in the February numbers but remains stable from the Q4 2014 numbers, when there was also 6.2 million Windows Phone users.
The latest Kantar numbers show Windows Phone’s retail market share still firmly below 5%, which will ultimately affect ownership there.  Despite seemingly resilience (which could also be called stagnation of growth) it is clear the US market needs a flagship if these numbers were to change.
