IDEA Cellular now supports Windows Phone Store carrier billing

idea

Another carrier has added support for carrier billing for Windows Phone users.

Indian carrier IDEA Cellular, which has a 15% market share and more than 115 million subscribers, has just enabled the feature, which allows Windows Phone users to pay for apps, games and music using their phone credit or monthly bill.

The feature is particularly important where credit and debit cards are not widely available, and has been shown to boost app sales several fold in emerging markets.  The Windows Phone store supports this feature on more than 60 carriers worldwide.

Thanks Jithin for the tip.
